I am a sound artist, composer, DJ, educator, and researcher with a background in cultural studies and anthropology. Originally from Ukraine, I am now based in The Hague, NL. I explore the relation between sound and commemoration, focusing on how music creates spaces for social bonding and personal self-discovery.
My work includes releases, sound installations, audiovisual compositions, multichannel live performances, audiowalks, radio shows, film scoring, and sound design. I also conduct workshops for both adults and teenagers. I have had the privilege of presenting my work at Rewire Festival (2024, The Hague), Sonic Acts Biennial (2024, Amsterdam), Composing for Spaces Festival (2023, The Hague), European Pavilion (2022, Rome), Performance Crossing Festival (2021, Prague), Detali (2020, Ivano-Frankivsk), and Fantazery (2019, Dragobrat). My installations have been showcased at the Kyiv Biennial (2023) and Autour du Fleuve in France (2021), as well as at the V'Uncase Residency in Ukraine (2020).
I co-released Bubny Voices in 2020 with fellow artist Olesia Onykiienko, under the система | system label. In 2023, I contributed to the Symposium Musicum album alongside John-Robin Bold and Elia Moretti. It was released by MAPPA and recognized by Bandcamp as one of the Best Field Recordings of 2023.
I compose music for films, theater, audiowalk, and create sonic branding for podcasts.
I lead workshops on electronic music, dj-ing and acoustic ecology. I am especially focused on offering workshops in Ukraine and beyond to help those who have suffered from the trauma of war and loss. Some of my recent sessions have taken place at Uyava Space in Kharkiv, Vox Electronica in Lviv, The Royal Conservatoire in The Hague, V:Uncase Residency and City Code Workshop in Zhytomyr, Femkukhnia DJ-ing workshop in Chernivtsi, and the Inner Ear online course with NGO Insha Osvita.
I hold a degree from the Royal Conservatoire of The Hague's Institute of Sonology, where I currently continue my work.
